Donald Trump Wants 'Unflattering' Portrait Removed
The portrait in question was called out by Donald Trump on his Truth Social page, the social media platform he started using after being banned from Twitter, now X. In his post, he attached a photo of the portrait with the message:
"Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, but the one in Colorado, in the State Capitol, put up by the Governor, along with all other Presidents, was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before. The artists also did President Obama, and he looks wonderful, but the one on me is truly the worst."
He also didn't waste the opportunity to call Governor Jared Polis "radical left" and "extremely weak on crime" before adding that he "should be ashamed of himself."
Social Media Calls Donald Trump 'Insecure'
However, many online users struggled to see what Trump disliked so much about the portrait, with some people pointing out that the portrait actually makes him look better. On X, formerly Twitter, critics of the president called him "a petty, insecure baby" and "the most fragile, sensitive snowflake in history."
"Honestly I would say the artist is being kind in that photo," one person posted.
"The way that Trump is complaining about this but it looks 1000% better than he does in person," another agreed.
"Struggling to see what the issue is here..." another wrote. "Glad this is what our president is spending time thinking about."
