TikTok Users Are Losing It Over Viral Clip Of Donald Trump Saying The US Shouldn’t Have A ‘Felon’ President: ‘That Didn’t Age Well’

A resurfaced clip of Donald Trump saying the United States of America shouldn’t have a president with a felony conviction has recently gone viral for obvious reasons.
The 78-year-old former president – who was convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records after paying adult entertainer Stormy Daniels $130,000 in hush money before the 2016 election – made the statement during a speech back in 2016.
In the resurfaced speech, Trump was speaking about Hillary Clinton at a rally in North Carolina and said “a sitting president under felony indictment and ultimately a criminal trial” would “grind government to a halt.”
Trump was referring to Clinton using a private email server during her time as secretary of state to Barack Obama, but the important thing to note is that she was not indicted and did not face a criminal trial. According to a BBC News report back in 2016: “Hillary Clinton has been cleared for a second time by the FBI over her use of a private email server while secretary of state.”
TikTok user @laurenlanee shared the clip to the social media platform on May 31st, and captioned it: “I think 2024 Donald could learn from 2016 Donald.” Her video began by saying: “I never thought I would ever agree with Donald Trump, but I found something from 2016 that just aged to perfection.” She then proceeded to show the clip of Trump making the statement, where he also added that Clinton “shouldn’t be allowed to run.”
