Donald Trump sure has a lot of affairs for someone who says they love and respect their wife. The former president is facing Stormy Daniels, former adult film star who he had an affair with back in 2006, in court, where he’s being charged with falsifying business records in order to cover up the $130,000 hush money he paid Daniels to keep quiet about their affair.
You would think this would make Melania Trump the most angry—cheating on her with an adult film star and giving her $130,000? Well, according to sources at National Enquirer, Melania was “deeply upset” about her husband’s affair with Karen McDougal, in fact “more so” than she was about his affair with Stormy Daniels. Donald Trump x Karen McDougal Affair
The same year as his affair with Stormy Daniels, Donald Trump allegedly had an affair with Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model, as well. In a 2018 interview with Anderson Cooper, McDougal recounted their time together. She recalls that they met at a party at the Playboy Mansion a few years prior to their entanglement, and said that she visited him "dozens of times," and he even brought her to the Trump Tower.
"We went into the back entrance," she says, "and at that point I realized where we were going, and I said, 'Aren't you afraid to bring me here?' He's like, 'They won't say anything.'" She also told Cooper that she was in love with Donald Trump, and went as far as to say that he was in love with her, too.
Donald Trump Faces Stormy Daniels In Court Over Hush Money For Their Affair
Back in 2018, Stormy Daniels publicly claimed that Donald Trump's former attorney, Michael Cohen, had paid her $130,000 to keep quiet about their alleged affair. Though Donald Trump did attempt to delay the onset of the trial, with his lawyers citing "an impartial jury cannot be selected right now based on prejudicial pretrial publicity." However, Justice Lizbeth González rejected the request without any explanation.
The incident, according to Stormy Daniels, occurred during Melania's pregnancy with her and the former president's son, Barron, in 2006, a decade before Trump's presidency. She says they met in Lake Tahoe at a celebrity golf tournament, and he invited her to his hotel suite for dinner, where he showed her a copy of a golf magazine with his face on the cover.
Stormy then recalls saying, "Someone should take that magazine and spank you with it." Allegedly, the former president then "turned around and pulled his pants down a little," which is when Stormy "gave him a couple of swats." Later that evening, Stormy says they had consensual sex.
Donald Trump has denied any relationship with the adult film star, but on Oct. 28th, 2016, Stormy signed an NDA in which she pledged not to publicly discuss any aspect of their relationship in exchange for $130,000.
In 2023, Trump was charged with falsifying business records to cover up the payment, and claims that the $130K was to stop her "false and extortionist accusations." Now that the trial is about to begin, things are not looking good for him, or, quite frankly, his marriage.
Melania Is More Upset About Karen McDougal Than Stormy Daniels...And That's Saying Something
Now, Melania was quite upset over Donald Trump's affair with Stormy Daniels, and according to her former aide, Stephanie Grisham, she even wanted a little revenge. Shortly after the news of his affair broke all those years ago, Melania took off without her husband. "I think [Melania] was pissed at Trump and wanted him to be a little humiliated that she took off."
However, as angry as Melania was over this, she was even more angry about Donald's affair with Karen McDougal, as with Stormy Daniels it appeared to be a one-time thing, where as with Karen, the former model insinuated that they had a real relationship.
Kaitlan Collins, who worked for the National Enquirer when all this was coming out and reported on the White House and Melania Trump, spoke about what it was like at the time. "Karen McDougal is one of the most personal parts of this because she allege not only that they had an affair, she said they had a relationship."
"And this was something that when, I know from covering the White House and covering Melania Trump," she continued, "it was deeply upsetting for the former first lady, Melania Trump, and it created a rift in their relationship."
"Everyone talks about Stormy Daniels and yes, that certainly was there as well," she concluded. "But Karen McDougal, we were told at the time, agitated Melania Trump more so, actually, than Stormy Daniels had."
