Drake Just Posted A Pic Of Him Hugging Taylor Swift on Instagram—Fans Think A Music Collab Is In The Works!

A Drake and Taylor Swift collab might not just be in our “Wildest Dreams” after all!? Fans have been theorizing and sharing reasons online all week why they think the rapper and pop star might be planning a future duet or musical project. These ideas started dominating social media after Drake shared an adorable picture of him hugging Swift with his 108 million followers in his April 18 photo collection.

“They too soft to understand the meaning of hard work,” the “Passionfruit” hitmaker, 35, wrote in his caption. Fans immediately took to his comment section to ask him what this meant. “Hard work as in a future collab w Taylor??” wrote one user, while another added, “this is so cute, please share a song together, we’re begging u.”

That same day, Drake shared several other photos in the same post— one of him at a concert, a cute snap of his son, Adonis Graham, 4, another of him on a beach, a close-up selfie, and then the Polaroid-esque shot with the Red (Taylor’s Version) songwriter, 32. Drake’s fans and Swift’s devotees (who affectionately refer to themselves as ‘Swifties’) pointed out on Twitter that this isn’t the first time both artists have teased or hinted at a new song in the works or hung out together.

“Remember there were rumors about Drake x Taylor Swift collab during 1989 era? What if that song is in the vault tracks??” one user noted, recalling when fans thought the two would have a track together on her 2014 album. “The last time [Drake] and Taylor took a photo together was in 2016 during the 1989 era. 1989 TV [“Taylor’s Version”] IS COMING WITH A DRAKE COLLAB!!” someone else suggested, thinking that Swift might re-record her fifth album next and feature Drake on it.

“So #BBMAs tweeted ‘Big announcement this week’ in a cryptic Taylor Swift way and the same day Drake posted a picture with Taylor THIS CAN’T BE A COINCIDENCE SOMETHING REALLY IS COMING,” another person claimed, referencing a recent announcement shared by Billboard Music Awards, as others wondered if maybe the two artists will perform live together soon.

Perhaps, as other fans shared, the musician may have just simply posted a photo with his friend, and there is no secret message or hint behind it (although wouldn’t be all love a new hit from them both!?) “This might just be wishful thinking,” wrote another fan, “let’s not get too ahead of ourselves here, guys.” Then again, we must add, (when thinking about both artists’ histories of posting cryptic messages and surprising clues to prep their fans for upcoming releases) anything is possible when it comes to Drake and Taylor!
