Despite a growing trend in Hollywood of women embracing their natural signs of aging, including gray hair, Drew Barrymore has not yet joined their ranks. In a recent interview with People Magazine, the talk show host, 48, revealed that she is not yet ready to reveal her gray hairs, instead promoting her own new hair shade with Nutrisse.

Other actresses, such as Andie McDowell, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Salma Hayek, have recently chosen to showcase their gray hair and aging process. While Barrymore admires their decision, she explained to the outlet why she just isn’t at that point yet when it comes to her beauty regimen.

“I do love that it’s trending and looks so beautiful and is like a fashion statement,” she told the publication, regarding women who choose an all-natural gray look in their 40s and 50s. “But I just don’t feel ready to go down that road.”

Drew Barrymore Opens Up About Gray Hair, Her New Nutrisse Shade And Beauty At 48

The Never Been Kissed alum went on, telling People that she has been dyeing her hair at home for years. Having just launched her own hair shade with Nutrisse, Barrymore joked about being well-aware of her many gray hairs and expressed a willingness to show them off when she sees fit.

"I'm only 48 so it's not completely gray, but I definitely have lot of gray hairs," the Ever After star continued. "But I can also keep dyeing it. I don't really care if I look like a Just For Men ad when I'm older."

After enduring years of bleach to maintain her usual bright blonde hair, Barrymore has discovered a newfound appreciation for her now warmer, honey blonde locks. "It's almost a bronze," she noted, referring to her Nutrisse 70 Dark Natural Blonde.

"It's not too light. Light is something I can't do anymore because of the maintenance. I can't deal with roots, roots, roots," Barrymore added.

The mom of two (who shares daughters Olive, 11, and Frankie, 9, with her ex-husband Will Kopelman) mentioned that although she seeks a little maintenance for her hair, she has contrasting feelings towards getting facial work done.

"Never say never, but I haven't resorted to it yet," she said, regarding facial fillers. "I'm going to maintain that for as long as possible. Because I'm not only interested in seeing myself as a Just For Men ad, but also as an old leather bag."

While cracking a few jokes, Barrymore stressed that she fears "chasing" topical treatments and other plastic surgery procedures after struggling with addiction in the past. "I fear I would continue to chase that, and be like, now this, and that," she shared.

Barrymore also opened up about how Cindy Crawford's pro-aging mindset and messages on social media recently inspired her. "I saw something from Cindy Crawford on her social saying that she embraced aging," Barrymore said. "That's such positive, healthy messaging. She was like, 'it means you're here, that you're alive, that you're living.'"

As she has matured, Barrymore expressed that all aspects of her life have become more effortless and simpler, including her beauty regimen that only consists of the use of micellar water to take off her makeup and applying vitamin E oil for more moisture.

"It's so simplified right now due to just where I'm at in my life," she noted. "Whether it's like a perimenopause or just my age or my skin, I cannot handle a lot of products anymore."
