Drew Barrymore has been in the entertainment business for her ENTIRE life, but has done a great job of staying out of the headlines. So when we saw THIS announcement, we were so shocked!
Drew Barrymore recently revealed why she felt sad for her two young daughters, Olive and Frankie. The mom-of-two told InStyle about the struggles she faced during quarantine, explaining: “Between homeschooling and working, I felt very overwhelmed at first — and I hate feeling overwhelmed. “It was weird to be a mom and a teacher and a provider and a friend. I felt sad for a while that I was all I could offer my children.” We know Drew isn’t alone, and her candidness just makes us love her even more!
We think Drew needs to give herself more credit—the pandemic has been an extremely challenging time for everyone, and all we can do is our best. She added, “I have so much empathy and patience for everyone but myself … it’s sick.” Drew explained that she doesn’t want to shield her daughters from everything going on, but it isn’t an easy balance. She is taking this time to educate her daughters on racism and other injustices and being not only the parent, but also a teacher and disciplinarian has given her a newfound appreciation for teachers. She added, “Have they had their children in the classroom? How did this all work? I didn’t think I needed to respect and appreciate teachers any more than I did.” We’re with you, Drew!
