Lipsticks are a staple in every girl's makeup bag. However, some of them get really pricey. So one of the most common places people go for a cheap and reliable lipstick is the drugstore.
Although many drugstore lipsticks are great dupes for the more expensive ones, quite a few of them fall short on their promises of lasting color. Check out these tips to figure out if that drugstore lipstick is really worth buying.

First off, don't fall for pretty packaging. Just like the old saying goes, "don't judge a lipstick by it's tube," (or something along those lines, right?). Just because the design of the tube is pretty doesn't mean the quality of the lipstick is going to be good. You might miss out on a good lipstick with simple packaging!
The ingredients that were used in production make or break your lipstick. When you read the ingredients label, the first ones are usually the most used ingredients in the lipstick. Always research the ingredients used in the product before you buy it, especially if it has a super long name (usually filled with chemicals!).
Always read the reviews of lipsticks before you buy them, but be weary about what you read! Some companies pay people to write great reviews for terrible products, so look at the average rating before you believe the opinion of one person.
Before you buy anything, always try to get a sample! Sometimes drugstores have testers for lipsticks, but if not, you can always contact the company's customer service line to see if they have any samples of products. This is a great way to know if that lipstick is a good buy without actually having to hand over cash!
