Dua Lipa Angers Australian Fans With 'Disgusting' Concert Ticket Prices
The "Dance the Night" hitmaker will be heading Down Under next March to perform a total of seven shows, after being forced to add more dates due to popular demand.
Unfortunately for her fans, it's the popularity of the shows that has made the tickets sky rocket, as they reportedly have 'dynamic' ticket pricing. This essentially means the tickets are priced based on demand rather than having a set price; and as Dua Lipa is one of the most popular singers right now, you can only imagine how high the prices are!
The "Sweetest Pie" singer will kick off her tour in Melbourne on March 19th at the Rod Laver Arena, and will perform on March 20th, 22nd and 23rd too, before jetting off to Sydney to perform at the Qudos Bank Arena on March 26th, 28th and 29th. The three-time Grammy winner will then fly to New Zealand on April 2nd.
Internet Reactions
Dua's fans took to social media and online comment sections to voice their anger at the extortionate ticket prices. "Nawt Dua Lipa/Ticketek turning on premium pricing for her Aus shows," wrote one fan on X, alongside a screenshot of their tickets which cost $349.90.
"Why are Dua's ticket prices so disgusting like why the [expletive] is it $460 EACH? That's disgusting," wrote another. "Soooo [expensive] wtf," agreed another, as someone else replied, writing: "crazy eh."
The comment section of a Daily Mail article about the ticket prices was also filled with disgruntled fan comments. One fan wrote: "You can get stuffed Dua at those extortionate prices. Pure greed, shame on you. Can't understand why people pay it, but there you go, it's only entertainment."
"The artist can opt out of dynamic pricing, but they don't because it makes them more money. It's not about the fans, or their value, it's about money," noted another reader in the comment section. "Just remember fans, she loves you, she really does. Which is why the price is low enough that you only have to sell one of your kidneys," quipped another.
