Fresh off the release of her highly anticipated new album, Dua Lipa proved her versatility as she assumed both hosting and musical duties during Saturday Night Live‘s latest episode over the weekend.
Starting off with a witty and comical monologue, the stylish Grammy winner, 28, stunned viewers with her alluring all-black ensemble, composed of a chic black dress with a mock turtleneck, long-sleeves, a lengthy skirt, and a sultry leg-baring high slit. To complete the look, Lipa added sparkling stud earrings, sheer tights and sleek black heels.
At the beginning of the episode, the “Houdini” singer introduced herself and acknowledged that some refer to her as “Dula Peep.” Furthermore, the “Training Season” hitmaker took the opportunity to endorse her latest musical endeavor, Radical Optimism, her third studio album.

As for her glam, Lipa wore her newly dyed red tresses down, parted to the side and styled into elegant, shiny loose waves. For her makeup look, the "Levitating" crooner sported smokey eyeshadow, voluminous lashes, rosy blush on her high cheekbones and a glossy, 90s-esque, brownish red lipstick hue.
During her speech to the crowd, the Argylle star made mention of her parents' presence and humorously remarked on spotting them at the club. Lipa went on to express her gratitude for their unwavering support throughout her journey, citing their decision to allow her to relocate from Kosovo to London at just 15 years of age in pursuit of her dreams.
Lipa made a noteworthy comeback to Studio 8H and the sketch comedy series for the May 4th episode, marking her first appearance since she served as the musical guest for host Kristen Wiig in 2020.
After being introduced by guest star Jerry Seinfeld, Lipa performed "Happy for You" later on during the show, a track from her latest record.
Additionally, "Illusion," another track from the same album, was introduced by Troye Sivan during the performance. Soon after this aired, SNL shared a clip of Lipa's monologue (that referenced the meaning of her name, her Albanian heritage, Governor Kristi Noem's controversial dog shooting and more) to YouTube and fans headed to its comments section to share their thoughts on her comedy chops and her monochromatic get-up.
"She looks gorgeous," one wrote as another added: "stunning and confident." One other concurred, commenting: "This was a fun monologue! Simple and short, but funny."
