Can’t get enough of Dua Lipa‘s infectious, newest single “Houdini?” Well now, it seems that fans will have even more music to look forward to from the pop sensation!
Earlier this week, the “Dance the Night” hitmaker, 28, uploaded a series of photos in a new Instagram post taken during her 2024 Grammys performance rehearsals and time spent with friends.
In one mirror selfie from the roundup, many of Lipa’s fans zoomed in and took to social media to share their findings.
The words “training season” were printed on Lipa’s sweatshirt, and many on X (formerly Twitter) guessed that this could have been the title of an upcoming single. Now, as confirmed by Lipa herself, they were right!

On January 22nd, the “Levitating” singer shared the photo collection that later caused a stir among her fans. Lipa captioned it: “Grammy rehearsals and other fun thingssss.” Her followers flocked to the comments section with their personal conjectures on why her post may have been hinting at a new musical creation.
“Interesting hoodie you got there…I’m optimistic it has a clue,” one wrote regarding her “training season” garment as another added: “Gurlll we need more songs Houdini is not enough.” Three days later, the Argylle star took to social media to announce that she is indeed releasing a single titled, “Training Season,” and that it will be released on February 15th!

Lipa also gave fans a snippet of the track to listen to on TikTok, and it already promises a catchy melody, pulsating beats, infectious synth notes and lyrics that chronicle yearning for a genuine connection. In the new clip, she lip syncs to a bit of her latest song, expressing her fatigue with lackluster men. “I need someone to hold me close, deeper than I’ve ever known/ Whose love feels like a rodeo, knows just how to take control,” she croons over a danceable beat.
In addition, Lipa divulged a relatable statement that unveiled how the song was inspired by a string of inadequate dates. “The last one was the final straw,” the vocalist (who is currently romantically linked to actor Callum Turner) wrote.
“The next morning I arrived to the studio to Caroline [Ailin] and Tobias [Jesso Jr.] asking me how it all went and I immediately declared ‘TRAINING SEASON IS OVER,’ and like the best ‘day after’ debriefs with your mates, we had a lot of laughs and it all quickly came together from there.”

She went on, revealing that the message conveyed in her lyrics has a broader relevance beyond just her personal relationships. “While it is obviously about that feeling when you are just absolutely done telling people … men specifically in this case, how to date you right; it is also about my training season being over and me growing with every experience,” she explained.
Lipa added: “I have never felt more confident, clear or empowered. And while it may be that training season is never over for any of us, you start to see the beauty in finding that person to experience it with.” (We can’t wait to hear it in full!)
