The ‘New Rules’ singer shared another unrecognizable look where she posed in blue patterned hot pants and a matching bra top, showing off her toned tummy and a strawberry blonde cropped hairstyle. If we’ve learned anything this year, it’s that Dua Lipa can truly pull off any hair color! The singer had a powerful 2020, releasing her second studio album, Future Nostalgia, as well as a live streamed concert titled Studio 2054, and a song with Miley Cyrus.
Lipa had not planned on releasing her album when she did, but an anonymous source forced her hand when it was leaked in March. She shared her experience writing the 70’s dance inspired album with Vogue, saying, “I wanted to write songs that were more sad, more about heartbreak, because I thought that writing happy songs would turn into cheesy songs. I had to fight that because I was like, ‘I am happy. I deserve to be happy.’ I should be able to write about that without the fear of feeling like I’m compromising my authenticity because I’m not crying about something or someone.”
Lipa’s star rose quickly over the last several years of her career, and she explained that while she does live a largely normal life with her family and the friends she has surrounded herself with, there are still moments when the fame becomes too much. “I would get anxiety,” she says. “And I was like, ‘This shouldn’t be the way that I’m experiencing this once-in-a-lifetime experience.’ It was messing with my confidence. I’d be super-nervous, wondering what everyone’s gonna say,” Lipa said about reading comments about herself on social media.
Not only serving us the perfect soundtrack to raise our mood throughout 2020, Dua Lipa has now provided us with ample hair inspiration for the new year.
