Say it ain’t so–Dunkin’ is permanently closing 450 convenience store locations across the U.S. by next year!
The company, formerly known as Dunkin’ Donuts, just confirmed that it would be closing all locations inside Speedway gas stations, and we are devastated.

This means that America will run a little less on Dunkin' by 2021.
The statement states that, "Dunkin’ reached an agreement with Speedway earlier this year to exit the approximately 450 Speedway owned and operated limited menu Dunkin’ locations along the east coast by the end of 2020." Heartbreaking!

The news was first announced in the company's fourth quarter earnings call in February--which was prior to the novel coronavirus outbreak!
The convenience stores, which are located on the East Coast, made up for less than 0.5% of U.S.-based margins in 2019.
Even though they are closing the Speedway locations, the company says that it's still looking to land in more in gas stations, convenience stores, airports, universities, travel plazas, and military installations.
Well isn't that just the silver lining--er, jelly filling--we were all hoping for!
