You’ve probably heard about how eggs are extremely healthy for you. They are an excellent source of protein, plus high in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids and a tone of excellent vitamins and minerals. On their own, eggs are great for helping you lose weight or maintain a healthy weight. But there is one egg recipe you should avoid because it may negate some of these health benefits.

One of the most popular ways to prepare eggs is to scramble them. It’s easy and only takes minutes to make. However, there is a common mistake people make with scrambled eggs that is actually not too good for your body as a breakfast meal.

If you scramble your eggs and add a bit of salt and pepper for seasoning, you’re making your scrambled eggs the healthy way. But many people add ingredients like milk or cream to thicken the consistency of their scrambled eggs, and this may be detrimental to your health.

Using heavy creams can add a lot of fat to your meal, turning it from something healthy to something that may slow down your metabolism throughout the day.

The best way to prepare scrambled eggs is without adding any cream or milk. If you really need a bit of thickener, try using just a splash of skim milk. You can also make this meal extra healthy by cooking some spinach or tomatoes with your eggs, which can also distract from the thinner consistency you’ll get without cream.
