Ellen DeGeneres has come under scrutiny over the past few years, with several of her former The Ellen DeGeneres Show co-workers calling the entire workplace environment “toxic.” And now, the 65-year-old comedian has once again come under fire, this time over a resurfaced interview with Megan Fox (who herself is making all kinds of headlines at the moment due to her new hair and unclear relationship status with Machine Gun Kelly) from way back in 2012, which again, doesn’t show Ellen in the best light.

Megan Fox Called Out Ellen DeGeneres Back In 2012

When the 36-year-old Jennifer's Body star appeared on Ellen's show, which ended in 2022 after 19 seasons, back in 2012, the two started talking about Megan's interest in astrology, which then led Ellen to ask Megan to tell her about her sun and moon signs, which are Aquarius and Aries respectively.

Once Ellen told the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles actress her signs, Megan instantly asked, "Do you find that you’re very independent?" to which Ellen instantly replied, "no." Again, when Megan asked her if she was "bossy" and "controlling," both of which would have no doubt related to her sun and moon signs, Ellen instantly shut her down and said "no," and then added, "I make decisions and I'm controlling in the fact that this show would go to hell if I wasn’t involved."

Ellen then asked the Transformers star to tell her some "positives" about herself, to which Megan responded by saying that she actually thought being independent was a huge positive. Ellen then said: "I don’t know what that means exactly. I don’t go along with whatever anybody says or thinks, I have my own opinions, but I do like to be around… I don’t like to be alone or else you would not be here. I would have a radio show."

Megan then joked that, based on all of the Finding Dory star's answers, she didn’t "know much about astrology," to which Ellen replied, "I thought you did, and it turns out you don’t." She then rather facetiously ended the interview by saying, "I'm going to control this and end it. See how bossy I can be?" This exchange *could* have caused Megan to feel embarrassed, or like she didn’t know what she was talking about, but we think she handled it like a pro! And Megan would be interested to know that she actually wasn’t the one who came off badly following the interview, as fans took to social media and several comments sections (including the comments section of the above YouTube clip) to call Ellen a "liar" for her responses.

Fans Comment About Megan Being 'Spot On' With Her Astrology

"Megan was right the entire time," one fan wrote two years ago, which would have been following the toxic work environment allegations against Ellen that first started in 2020. "What a treat to watch this in 2020," quipped another. "Megan was spot on with the adjectives for Aquarians with Aries Moons, Ellen was probably rejecting all of them just for the show's sake," added another, while just one year ago, someone else said: "Ellen seems a bit uncomfortable with being told about herself." "Omg now we know, she proved it right," said another one year ago, while another added, "Megan tried to warn us early!"

"Ellen was very dishonest with her answers, considering the scandal revolving around her abusing her wife, Portia. She was unnecessarily condescending and dismissive towards Megan," one fan commented seven years ago. "She was actually very right about Aquarius!" exclaimed another, nine years ago.

What Were The 'Toxic' Allegations Against 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show?'

Things kicked off in March 2020, after several Ellen DeGeneres Show employees responded to comedian Kevin T. Porter's viral Twitter thread which encouraged people to share their stories on "notoriously one of the meanest people alive," in reference to Ellen. Many people came forward, with one person saying she was told to never look the comedian in the eyes and another alleging that Ellen "picks someone different to really hate" every single day. Another claimed Ellen tried to get her fired for wearing chipped nail polish while serving her food.

In July, before the show was reportedly under internal investigation following the allegations, BuzzFeed spoke to anonymous past and present employees who discussed the "toxic work environment" and the alleged racism, intimidation, and fear, which reportedly went back years. Although Ellen wasn't specifically called out, one former employee said that she should be held "responsible" if she wants to "have her name on the show."

There were many other allegations, and Ellen addressed some of them during the show’s Season 18 premiere in September 2020, saying: "I learned that things happened here that should never have happened. I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power, and I realize that with that comes responsibility, and I take responsibility for what happens at my show."

She also addressed the alleged toxicity behind the scenes in an interview on Today, saying: "I don’t know how I could have known when there’s 255 employees here and there are a lot of different buildings, unless I literally stay here until the last person goes home at night. It is my name on the show, so clearly it affects me and I have to be the one to stand up and say, 'This can’t be tolerated.' But I do wish somebody would have come to me and said, 'Hey, something’s going on that you should know about.'"
