Ellen DeGeneres may have had a rough year with toxic workplace allegations swirling and struggles with booking guests for her show, but that seemingly has not had any impact on her financial status as she and her wife Portia de Rossi have reportedly purchased a $49 million home in Montecito, California. According to The Wallstreet Journal, the couple will be new neighbors with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!

DeGeneres and de Rossi have been known to move frequently within the Montecito area, and the pair recently sold their old house for $33.3 million after initially purchasing it two years prior for $27 million. DeGeneres seems to have a passion for flipping properties on the side of her day job, and she reportedly purchased her newest home from comedian Dennis Miller and his wife Carolyn Espley-Miller.

Ellen DeGeneres is worth an estimated $370 million, so this new home hardly made a dent in her savings, but boasting 4.3 acres of land, a guest house, pool, detached garage and barn, the stunning home doesn’t seem to be lacking much. We wonder if the Royals, whose home was estimated to cost $14.7 million, will ever come visit for dinner!

DeGeneres and de Rossi are not the first mega-celebs to move into the same neighborhood as Prince Harry and Meghan, with Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry and their daughter Daisy also moving into the Montecito area this year. However, coming in at $49 million, they do boast one of the most expensive properties ever to be sold in Santa Barbara County.

With a gorgeous view and a backyard to die for, the couple are sure to easily make themselves at home in their stunning new mansion. Clearly Ellen has been able to make some silver linings out of a year plagued with bad luck at every turn. We only wish we could afford a home half as beautiful!
