Ellen DeGeneres Is Reportedly 'Jealous' Of Kelly Clarkson's Talk Show Success
According to Ok!, an insider claimed that the Ellen's Last Stand… Up Tour comedian is jealous of Kelly Clarkson's success because it reminds her of what she used to have just a few years ago.
If you recall, in May 2021, DeGeneres announced that her show's 19th season would be her last, following toxic workplace allegations. The final episode aired on May 26th, 2022.
"Ellen is still tuning in and hearing how well Kelly is doing and how she's crushing it in the ratings, how every celeb wants to get on her show," an insider said, according to the outlet. They added: "It wasn't so long ago that they all wanted to be Ellen's friend. It really sticks in her throat."
Ellen DeGeneres Reportedly Feels Betrayed By Kelly Clarkson
The insider also alleged that Ellen sees the 42-year-old "Since U Been Gone" singer's thriving chat show career as some sort of betrayal, and believes she is "being two-faced" due to how often the former American Idol winner appeared on her own show.
"Kelly had been a frequent guest on the show," the source continued. "Ellen's aware of the rumors of people not supporting her when she was at her lowest, and Kelly is top of her list!"
Kelly Clarkson Previously Said She Could Never Fill Ellen's Shoes: 'I Don't Want That Pressure'
As soon as the news that The Kelly Clarkson Show would go in The Ellen DeGeneres Show's time slot, the "Mine" singer confirmed that she was never trying to replace the Ellen's Game of Games host.
In a 2022 interview, the mom-of-two said: "Nobody is going to fill Ellen's shoes. I hold the Oprahs and the Ellens in such high regard. Very few people can conquer what they conquered."
