The holiday season is in full swing, and McDonald’s is celebrating with the return of its iconic, annual holiday pie! The fast food chain— as reported by Chew Boom— recently brought back its warm, fluffy and sprinkled treats to restaurants nationwide.
Fans have been sharing photos of the cherished desserts from Mickey D’s locations all across the country and dubbing the item to be everything from ‘epic’ to ‘nostalgic’ to ‘mysterious.’ As noted by CNN Business, the pastry has been appearing and reappearing for the past 10 years, always varying on timing and availability.

What Is The McDonald’s Holiday Pie?
If you’re unfamiliar with the treat and want to know what the hype is all about, Eat This, Not That writes that it is composed of a “creamy, smooth vanilla custard nestled in a flaky, buttery crust” while also “glazed with sugar and topped with rainbow sprinkles.”
Many customers have likened its flavor and texture to the company’s also popular baked apple pie. The latter, as many McDonald’s lovers know, features “100% American-grown apples, and a lattice crust baked to perfection and topped with sprinkled sugar,” according to its site.

On Twitter and elsewhere, many McDonald’s customers are sharing their experiences with the holiday pies, and many seem overjoyed regarding its return. “Everything is going to be okay!!! holiday pies are back at mcdonalds!!” one fan hilariously tweeted while another added, “I don’t know what’s in that Holiday Pie from @McDonalds… but, if it was a person I would marry it.”
