Eva Mendes is continuing to wow fans with her age-defying looks these days – with her appearance in the recent Look Optic ad campaign rendering fans almost speechless.

There’s no denying that the 50-year-old mom-of-two looks incredible; and while some of it is undoubtedly down to her excellent genes (we’re not jealous at all, promise!) another part of it is through hard work in the kitchen and in the gym. She previously confessed to working out three times a week (or five if she has a photoshoot or a red carpet event to attend) but what does her diet look like? Let’s find out some of the things she has said about her diet in the past…

What Does Eva Mendes Eat For Breakfast?

The Place Beyond the Pines actress didn’t gatekeep her secrets, and revealed what she typically eats in a day during a 2017 interview with Shape magazine.

In the interview, the Hitch actress said she usually eats scrambled eggs on Ezekiel toast for breakfast, which we know are a great way to start the day thanks to their high protein. “You can do so much with eggs. They’re magic,” she confessed, which we definitely agree with!

What Does Eva Mendes Eat For Lunch, Dinner, And Dessert?

“I think about [food] as fuel for my body. I grew up eating rice and beans, so I have some kind of grain in every meal,” the 2 Fast 2 Furious actress said. “For lunch, I usually have salmon and rice or quinoa, and I try to include a salad,” she continued, adding: “I’ll eat the same thing for dinner. I’m a creature of habit in that way.”

And Eva obviously skips dessert to maintain her incredible figure, right? Wrong! The Ghost Rider actress confessed that she does have a huge sweet tooth, and tells herself that indulging from time to time is ok because of how often she works out!

“It’s ongoing, and I have to manage my sugar cravings constantly,” she explained. “I’ve gotten used to having something sweet after every meal, so I’m always bartering with myself, ‘No, no, I can’t have that after dinner, but maybe I can have it after lunch instead.’ The kid in me thinks, ‘I work out, so I can support my sugar habit.’ I know that’s not a very wise thing to say, but I really do feel like I’m working it off!” The results speak for themselves, so it’s obviously working!
