It seems like Eva Mendes may have gotten her way, as she and husband Ryan Gosling are reportedly considering leaving California for good! But did we ever expect them to move to Europe?!
A few months ago, insiders suggested that the Hollywood couple were “at odds” over their residence, after the Hitch actress, 50, no longer wanted to raise their two daughters, Esmeralda, 10, and Amada, 8, in Los Angeles. Although they moved to the much quieter area of Montecito, California, Eva still wasn’t a hundred percent happy there, while sources claimed the La La Land actor, 44, was getting “restless” there as he wanted the “action” of a big city.
However, newer reports are suggesting that they are currently looking for properties in the U.K. of all places, which could very well tick both of their boxes! Keep reading for more details…
Are Eva Mendes And Ryan Gosling Moving To Europe?
While the children's book author initially wanted to move to Montecito, she has had a change of heart after spending a lot of time in the U.K. while her husband was filming Project Hail Mary.
The Girl in Progress actress recently told the Sunday Times that she has fallen in love with the U.K., in particular the area of Notting Hill. "We're in Notting Hill, so we have access to those communal gardens. Seriously, it's magical," Mendes gushed.
Eva Mendes And Ryan Gosling Are 'Ready For A Change Of Pace'
An insider told In Touch that the Place Beyond the Pines actors are serious about buying a home in the U.K. as they have fallen in love with it; although, they will reportedly still keep their current home in the U.S. for the time being too.
"They'll still keep their place in Montecito to have a home base in California because they'll certainly be back, but they're ready for a change of pace," the source explained.
"They had such a good time in the U.K. and love the idea of giving their girls a more permanent taste of life outside America," the source continued, adding: "It feels safer in a lot of ways, and they love the idea of being in Europe, they can take all sorts of quick trips, there's so much to explore."
Although Mendes adored Notting Hill, the insider suggested that she and the Barbie actor are "looking at properties outside of London in the countryside at the moment" because "they want that slower pace of life."
The Notebook actor will reportedly still travel for work in the future (and his wife and daughters will go with him, as they have always done!) he is happy to slow down for the time being.
"His plan right now is to slow down for a bit, he's still going to work but just not at the intense pace he has been so it's the perfect time to explore a new country," the insider added.
