Vera Wang continually garners praise for her age-defying beauty and sculpted physique at 74.
However, after the fashion designer recently shared a series of new viral photos on Instagram featuring herself in a white one-piece swimsuit, many followers have expressed their doubts regarding the authenticity of the images.
Specifically, some have accused Wang of going overboard with the use of “filters” and digitally manipulating the photos.
This week, Wang took to IG to share four pics while donning a chic swimsuit, oversized black shades from her line and shimmering silver dangly earrings while posing on a diving board. Wang captioned her upload: “My SLIM AARONS moment …Happy Summer !!! Eyewear: #VeraWangEyewear @kenmarkeyewear.”

Fans headed to the comments section to share their thoughts. "HOW is it possible you look like this," one wrote as another added: "Filters and Photoshop. Lets keep it real." Someone else chimed in, commenting: "The power of filters :-). How can you believe that 75 year old woman looks like this????" One other shared a similar note: "Thanx to photoshop!"
Wang has not responded to these "editing" and "Photoshop" accusations. During an interview with People Magazine in April 2023, Wang confessed to feeling somewhat taken aback by fans commending her ageless looks and, in a rather understated manner, attempted to downplay the entire situation.
"I’ve been to the Met Gala. I’ve gone to the Oscars. It’s crazy. Seriously, when I say to people, 'I don’t get it.' If we planned something like this, it would’ve never happened," she said. As for the mystery behind her seemingly eternal youth, she elaborated: "I guess it’s just that people have an idea of what 70 looks like today. I have so many friends that are 65 to 70 that look fabulous."
The artist and style icon continued: "But I have to say that hopefully, it’s a good thing. I hope it makes women feel more comfortable with themselves or are confident, or there are many definitions of what a woman can be." When questioned about her daily routine, Wang disclosed that it was surprisingly uncomplicated - dedicate oneself to work, prioritize sufficient rest, savor the occasional vodka cocktail, and evade the sun to safeguard the skin.
"Nobody believes me when I say it, but working keeps you young. It keeps your mind young, and your spirit up and your relevance up, which I think affects your body," she went on. "I have to say, sleep, staying out of the sun without sunblock, and good lighting is everything too."
