Wendy Williams is sparking concern and worry from fans after stepping out in New York City last week, with some Twitter users dubbing her “looking much thinner” and “out of it,” as another wrote. The former talk show host, 58, appeared “disoriented,” as The Daily Mail writes, while she was photographed by paparazzi leaving a building and heading to a car waiting for her.

Williams donned denim short-shorts and a black graphic tee while out and about, and carried a dark green snakeskin Gucci purse. She wore her long, caramel-colored tresses down, parted in the middle and styled straight while accessorizing with bangle bracelets.

In recent video footage that emerged online, Williams appeared to exit a building and turn around, looking unsure if the parked car there was the right one. In one clip, Williams tells nearby photographers, “I look 30,” while walking to her car, suddenly pausing, turning around, and then stepping away from the vehicle. This behavior, fans online wrote, seemed “upsetting” as many “hope she is doing okay.”

Williams has long been open about her health issues, including lymphedema, which she revealed in a June 2022 podcast interview with TMZ led her to take time off from her talk show in September 2021. Last year, the broadcaster also caught COVID-19, and she also suffers from a thyroid condition and Grave’s Disease.

A statement from The Wendy Williams Show team at the time read: “Wendy continues to be under medical supervision and meets with her medical team on a daily basis. She is making progress but is experiencing serious complications as a direct result of Graves’ Disease and her thyroid condition.”

In February, it was announced that The View alum Sherri Shepherd will be permanently taking over Williams’ time slot, as she also helped stand-in as a temporary host during Williams’ absence. The Wendy Williams Show finale aired in June and was hosted by Shepherd. This seemed to upset some fans who wanted to have “the original host” appear on-screen one last time.

In a recent interview with the New York Post, Williams recalled the show’s end and explained that she was never “asked” to appear on the finale and said there was “nothing I liked about” the episode. “I sat in my apartment and I watched it. And [I was] like: “Eek!” she added.

In Janurary, Wells Fargo notably locked Williams out of her accounts, deeming her to be an “incapacitated person” who the bank believed needed a guardianship after her financial advisor reportedly dubbed her to be “of unsound mind.” In March, Williams addressed her “loving supporters” in an Instagram video and wanted them to know that it “isn’t fair” that her bank froze her out of her account with claims that she needs a guardian. Williams explained that she wanted answers from her former financial adviser and bank.

“My thing is that I’ve been asking questions about my money and when I begin asking questions about my money, suddenly Lori Schiller has got no response regarding my money. I want my money. This is not fair,” she said. Schiller, Williams’ former adviser, allegedly led Wells Fargo to freeze the star’s account. This came after Schiller claimed Williams was of “unsound mind” to handle her affairs.

“Wells Fargo has no questions and answers regarding my money. This is not fair. And Lori Schiller and Wells Fargo has this guardianship petition about keeping me away from my money,” she added. “This is not right and this is not fair,” she repeated. In the video, uploaded to Williams’ personal account, she wrote in its caption, “I’m tired of everyone speaking as if they’re me in this scenario. It’s time I let all of my loving supporters know what’s really been going on with Wendy,” along with heart and smiley face emojis.
