While we all know Charlize Theron looks absolutely stunning with literally any hair color, some fans don’t appear to be too fond of her new ‘do. The Bombshell star, 46, arrived at her Africa Outreach Project 2022 Summer Block Party over the weekend in a chic white Dior blouse and jean pairing with one noticeably striking accessory— her newly dyed and chopped locks.

The usually blonde Theron was photographed with much darker strands and piecey layered tresses that appeared to resemble a mullet. Her hairstylist, Adir Abergel, revealed in an Instagram post after the event that he aimed to create what he deemed a ‘mixte’ cut— or a combination of a trendy mullet with elements of Theron’s more iconic and recognizable look, a short pixie hairstyle. Theron shared her look with her 7 million followers in several Instagram posts, also showing off her outfit of the day and pics with other noteworthy attendees like Jeff Goldblum and Wyclef Jean.

Fan reactions to her new hair (as seen in her post comment section and on Twitter) were mixed. “You are so beautiful but go back to blonde pls,” wrote one user as another added, “The color isn’t bad but I don’t know about the cut, it’s not the most flattering.” Other fans added that they “loved the fresh change” or that “Charlize can rock anything” (which we agree with), but most seemed to be “surprised” by the new look or even found it a bit “jarring.”

“I hope this isn’t permanent,” another fan commented while someone else suggested it “might be a wig.” Either way, we have to emphasize another fan, who added that “Charlize Theron is super stunning” and wanted to “give credit” to her for rocking something new!
