Fans Send Their 'Condolences' After Taco Bell Served A Customer A Burrito That Looked Like 'A Soggy Toilet Paper Roll'

Have you ever ordered a meal and gotten something so wildly different from what it was supposed to look like it becomes laughable? In fast food, with rushed meal prep and amateur staffers, it’s not uncommon to see (one reviewer just called Wendy’s chicken wrap “repulsive”).

As reported by Mashed, that’s what happened when one customer ordered Taco Bell’s Grilled Cheese Burrito and ended up with what fans are calling a “soggy toilet paper roll,” a gross but fairly accurate description.

Customer Orders Taco Bell Burrito And Gets A Soggy Mess

Taco Bell’s “Grilled Cheesy Burrito” should look like the above image: a stuffed tortilla filled with seasoned beef or beans, nacho cheese sauce, seasoned rice, fiesta strips, creamy chipotle sauce, sour cream, and cheese topped with a layer of three-cheese shreds grilled on top of the wrap. Looks pretty good, right?

Well, a customer ordered the cheesy burrito expecting this beefy roll wrapped in a cheesy tortilla and got, unfortunately, whatever this is…

Taco Bell burrito fail

The customer posted the food fail on Reddit writing, “My Grilled Cheese Burrito,” which safe to say feels a little inaccurate. We don’t even know what’s going on in this picture. Is that even a burrito? Are those the fiesta strips sticking out of it? The original poster followed up their post with a comment, “I’m so sad. [I’m] basically eating a Beefy Melt Burrito.”

Comments subsequently rolled out with empathy and amusement.

“I'm sorry but it's so sad that it's kinda funny,” wrote the top reply. “My Condolences.” LOLs ensued and another remarked, “Looks like just another day at my local Taco Bell.”

A former employee even chimed in and wrote, “As someone who orders it frequently and used to make them when I worked there, I can safely say this is in no way a grilled cheese burrito.” Phew, well that’s good to know if anyone ever tries to order this again. I can’t imagine the OP would want to, though.

What Went Wrong

Have you ever tried to peel a Now and Later ‘til you’re stuck picking wrapper crumbs off the piece of candy, only to end up eating it wrapper crumbs and all anyways? Well, that’s kinda what happened here. Whatever cheese was grilled on top got absolutely demolished by the wrong wrapper, as noted by fans on the thread.

In a fit of laughing emojis, someone wrote, “Looks like they ran out of the brown grill paper and tried to grill it on a regular burrito wrapper instead.” Another else confirmed this guess, writing that the taco chain “recently switched to brown wrappers so they look similar to the parchment paper.” They surmised, “I'll bet they grabbed the wrong paper on accident.”

Not only is a part of the burrito missing, but the actual burrito itself also appears pretty inedible. The tortilla looks whiter than flour, and for a burrito that’s supposed to be grilled to a golden hue, it appears to have never even touched the grill.

It’s hard to tell what’s going on inside this sight for sore eyes, but judging by the poster’s reaction, it doesn’t seem too great. Here’s to hoping Taco Bell makes their meals better next time. If not, we’re down for watching some more comical reactions unravel.
