In a recent post on Instagram, Jessica Simpson wowed her 6.3 million followers with radiant beach photos featuring items from her clothing line. While some fans were impressed with her stylish and summery wardrobe, others couldn’t help but notice perceived “differences” in her appearance, leading to speculation about possible cosmetic surgeries and “fillers.”
Simpson, 43, captioned her upload: “Meet me in Malibu! Shop my favorite styles from our latest collection in store and online at @dillards @macys @nordstrom @belk and Jessicasimpson.com!” Fans headed to the April 24th post’s comments section to share their thoughts.
“Beautiful,” one wrote as another added: “Love those cotton knit wear dresses!” Someone else chimed in: “these are the perfect spring/summer looks!” regarding the star’s knit and fringe-adorned new dresses from her line. Others, however, addressed the ongoing filler accusations. “Too much filler,” one wrote as another added: “ease up on those lip fillers.”

Earlier this month, Simpson also shared a fresh-faced selfie that left many fans in awe of her radiant complexion. While she garnered lots of compliments regarding her glowing, supple skin, some noted that the new selfie made them do a double take.
On May 17th, the “I Wanna Love You Forever” singer shared a new close-up image of herself, looking off in the distance and posing with two fingers on her cheek. “Up to something…” Simpson wrote in her caption, teasing a potential new career endeavor.

This isn’t the first time that Simpson’s followers have claimed she looked “unrecognizable” in an Instagram photo. In one March 1st post, the fashion designer can be seen wearing a curve-hugging turtleneck dress in a bright shade of orange, with her long blonde hair styled in loose waves. Her makeup was equally eye-catching, with bold black liner, shimmering silver eyeshadow, rosy blush, and a glossy pink lip.
While some devotees praised her chic get-up and glamorous look, others pointed out the alleged presence of fillers in her face, which they believed to be more pronounced in the three-part upload.
Simpson captioned her post: “Orange Crush” with an orange heart emoji. The images showed the mom of three posing on a furry chair in a dimly lit room. Many then made their way to Simpson’s comments section to express their opinions.

“Stop putting filers to your face pls. You are already very very beautiful. Now it’s weird,” one wrote as someone else added: “Jessica does not look like Jessica anymore!” One other concurred, commenting: “I miss your natural beauty!”
Although Simpson has not yet addressed the recent allegations regarding her use of fillers, her memoir, Open Book, does detail her experience with cosmetic surgery. Specifically, the Sweet Kisses artist reveals that she underwent two tummy tucks after giving birth to her eldest children, daughter Maxwell in 2012 and son Ace in 2013.

While the “With You” hitmaker publicly credited her post-baby weight loss to Weight Watchers, Simpson acknowledges that there was more to the story. “The surgery wasn’t for weight loss,” Simpson explained. “I weighed 107 pounds when I planned the surgery. I wanted to get rid of the stretch marks and loose skin [caused by pregnancy].”
She went on: “I was so ashamed of my body at this point that I wouldn’t let [her husband, former NFL player Eric Johnson] see me without a white T-shirt on. I had sex with it on and even showered with it on. I couldn’t bear to look at myself.”

Despite the initial success of her first procedure, Simpson still felt unsatisfied and opted to schedule another full tummy tuck two months down the line. “I still had loose skin that hung over my pants,” she noted, deeming many critics to be “cruel” when it came to her appearance in the late 2000s and throughout the 2010s.
Despite weighing only 120 pounds and wearing size 4 “mom jeans,” Simpson said that she was subjected to fat-shaming. “[I wasn’t] ready to face that laugh-and-point cruelty again,” the Dukes of Hazzard actress said.

The second attempt at a tummy tuck was fraught with numerous complications. According to Simpson, she contracted an infection, specifically colitis, and was constantly vomiting to the point where she feared the sutures would rupture.
Her condition was so severe that she had to stay in Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles for a total of nine days and narrowly avoided requiring a blood transplant. When reflecting, Simpson said she now looks back at it all in a different light.

“I need to say this: If you have stretch marks from pregnancy, I hope you can be proud that your body created life. I was not strong enough. It touched all my insecurities, and I couldn’t handle it,” she admitted.
In December of 2022, Simpson treated her followers to an inside look at her “camera-ready” skincare routine by sharing a video on Instagram. The video featured the star receiving a non-surgical facelift, offering her fans an exclusive peek at her beauty regimen.
