Angelina Jolie's Lightest Blonde Hair In Years Divides Fans After Her Venice Film Festival Appearances
On August 29th, pop culture publication Just Jared shared new shots of Jolie at the festival with her lighter locks, and fans headed to the Instagram post's comments section to share their thoughts.
"She’s gorgeous I wish she goes back to dark hair," one wrote as another added: "Blonde makes her look older but black is her color." Someone else replied: "She looks old and washed out with blond hair" as one other disagreed: "Love her hair!" An additional fan commented: "always gorgeous."
As reported by Harper's Bazaar, the Maleficent actress unveiled a "sunlit honey blonde" hair color in late August, marking a significant shift from her renowned brunette look earlier this year.
After parting ways with her dark chocolate locks in February and trying out a neutral shade for a few months, the mom of six just opted for a radiant gilded blonde just in time for the Venice festival.
This sun-kissed hue, as described by the publication, preserves the warmth of traditional honey blonde but is elevated with bright highlights throughout, resulting in a captivating glow. Many hairstylists consider it the perfect golden shade to celebrate the close of summer.
Under the direction of Pablo Larraín, Jolie's highly anticipated film Maria features Jolie portraying the renowned late opera singer, Callas. This movie, part of the competitive selection at the Venice Film Festival, also boasts performances by Kodi Smit-McPhee, Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher, and Haluk Bilginer.
Based on the true story of Callas, Jolie's new project will tell the "tumultuous, beautiful and tragic story of the life of the world's greatest opera singer, relived and reimagined during her final days in 1970s Paris," according to a press release. As noted by a recent report from Variety, Netflix has secured the U.S. distribution rights for the biopic directed by Larraín.
