The FDA is advising consumers to stop using and dispose of these products immediately. While no illnesses or other health effects have been reported in connection with the recall, it is always better to be safe than sorry. Long-term exposure to lead, especially in children, can cause learning disabilities, behavioral difficulties, and lower IQ.
If you purchased Supreme Tradition Cinnamon at Dollar Tree or Family Dollar, you can return it to your local store for a full refund. Other retailers have yet to announce their policy.
