According to People, Huffman pleaded guilty to paying an admissions consultant $15,000 to have her daughter Sophia Grace’s SAT scores corrected. Since then, the actress has also been sentenced to serve 14 days in federal prison, charged a $30,000 fine, ordered to complete 250 hours of community service, and was granted a year of supervised release. Despite the shocking sentencing, husband William H. Macy has been sticking by her side through it all.
A family source of Huffman and Macy’s chatted with People about the impact the scandal has had on the couple. “He has seen firsthand how difficult this experience has been on her,” the source said about Macy. “He’s been extremely supportive and very protective of her all along the way.”
Leading up to the days before Huffman’s sentencing, Macy was honest in a letter to the judge regarding Huffman’s relationship with motherhood while raising Sophia Grace alongside younger daughter Georgia Grace Macy. Macy’s bluntness and honesty may come as a shock to some people.
“Motherhood has, from the very beginning frightened Felicity and she has not carried being a mom easily. She’s struggled to find the balance between what the experts say and her common sense,” Macy wrote to the judge. “But I also want you to know that Felicity has raised two amazing young women,” Macy said of the two daughter he shares with Huffman.
