It’s no secret that black velvet bows have been a prominent feature on many outfits worn by celebrities in 2024. The “floppy bow” trend, highlighted by The Telegraph, appears to have lasting appeal.

For example, Jessica Alba and Emily Blunt recently dazzled on the red carpet with their elegant ensembles showcasing this trend.

Alba, 43, wore a floral Valentino dress in Rome as she attended the Discobolo Award 2024 red carpet event to promote her new movie, Maserati: The Brothers. The Fantastic Four alum accessorized with a stylish black bow, which accentuated her slender waist.

As for Blunt, 41, she also looked glamorous with the help of bows at the Red Sea International Film Festival. The Devil Wears Prada star donned a breathtaking Tamara Ralph gown that featured a blend of shimmering crystals and velvet bows cascading down one side. We’ll break down both of their looks, below.

Celebs Can't Get Enough Of The Black Velvet Bow Trend This Holiday Season

Jessica Alba Stuns In Floral Valentino Gown With A Waist-Cinching Bow

Alba's long-sleeved, floor-length dress was decorated with glimmering jewel details and floral embellishments. It also featured semi-sheer fabric. To complete her look, the Golden Globe nominee and style icon added gold mini hoop earrings and a black purse with gold hardware.

For her glam, Alba dazzled with black winged eyeliner, rosy eyeshadow, radiant blush on her high cheekbones and a glossy pink pout. She wore her dirty blonde tresses down, parted to the side and styled into elegant, brushed-out waves. Alba proved that one singular bow can make a statement and also add a feminine touch to any holiday party dress!

Emily Blunt Wows In A Shimmering Tamara Ralph Gown With Black Cascading Bows

Blunt's standout gown also had long sleeves and a floor-length silhouette, but the Oppenheimer alum's piece was complete with a sultry, thigh-high slit. The A Quiet Place star amped up her ensemble even more with sheer tights, black open-toed heels and a matching sleek clutch.

Her black silk velvet dress was beautifully accented with three matching bows. For her glam, the Into the Woods actress wore her caramel-colored tresses in an effortless updo. For her makeup look, Blunt opted for glittery eyeshadow, black liner, voluminous lashes, rosy blush, and a shiny pink lip. Blunt showed us here that three bows can be even more chic than just one this holiday season!

There are so many ways to wear bows, whether on the red carpet or at a wintry soirée. These two looks from Alba and Blunt are our favorites as of late. Have any more in mind? Let us know your thoughts below.
