Florence Pugh Stuns In Scarlet Valentino Gown In New Shots For Elle UK
Pugh won the publication's 'British Icon’ award as part of its October 2023 issue, and engaged in a candid conversation with fellow actress and close friend Jodie Turner-Smith.
The two discussed the significance of embracing and accepting one's body, how Pugh's personal style evolved since her teen years, and the ways in which the Oscar nominee stays true to herself in the demanding entertainment industry.
"I think I’ve always been interested in wearing loud clothing," Pugh said. "When I was a teenager, I would buy the most outrageous things and sew them together. I’ve always loved color. I’ve always wanted to be bold and make a bit of a scene – I don’t think that’s gone away."
The Black Widow alum added: "When I first started doing red carpets, it was really tough. It takes ages to feel comfortable with 50 men all shouting, 'Picture, over here!' I’ve become more confident in the last few years, and I think that’s hugely linked to the clothes I’ve been wearing. The more you can enjoy it, the more [people] can see that you’re enjoying it."
Regarding body acceptance, Pugh told Turner-Smith: "I speak the way I do about my body because I’m not trying to hide the cellulite on my thigh or the squidge in between my arm and my boob: I would much rather lay it all out."
Pugh shared images from the new shoot in posts for her 9.3 million Instagram followers. Fans took to social media to applaud her latest stylish look and commend her outspokenness on subjects such as embracing one's body. In her IG post caption, Pugh wrote: "To be given not only a cover but awarded 'The British Icon' by Elle Style Awards was not how I expected my summer to end."
She went on: "It was a piece I was really able to reflect and appreciate all those that had pushed me forward, protected, supported, followed, encouraged to get me to where I am now and to be able to be who I am now."
Pugh also donned an eye-catching off-the-shoulder red dress in another image for the shoot taken by photographer Danny Kasirye. She paired that number with edgy black boots and put her spunky blonde pixie cut on full display.
Fans headed to her comment section to hype up her effortlessly cool style and beauty. "Always beautiful!" one fan wrote with a heart emoji as another added: "You never go out of style!!"
Someone else concurred, commenting: "you ate this up wow i can’t get over it." One other agreed: "beautiful lady, great shoot." We couldn't have said it better ourselves!
