We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but what many people don’t realize is just how bad an unhealthy breakfast can be for you. It’s important to pick the right foods to eat in the morning, because these choices affect our energy levels and metabolism for the rest of the day.
If you eat a breakfast that is high in fats and carbs, you will probably find that your energy depletes much earlier in the day. This can slow your metabolism and even cause you to eat more throughout the day as your body craves new sources of energy.
Proteins are great in the morning because they help boost energy levels, but this doesn’t mean that all foods with protein are good options for breakfast. Bacon, for example, does have protein since it is a type of meat, but it’s actually one of the worst foods you can eat in the morning.
The high amounts of fat and sodium in bacon can easily ruin your day. It causes bloating and basically zaps away all of your energy, which is the opposite of what you want your breakfast to do for you.
Opt for healthier breakfast meats, like lean ham or turkey bacon. Picking foods with higher levels of protein and lower levels of oils and fats will always give you the best results.
