It's no secret that KFC is the place to go if you want some cripsy, juicy chicken -- its slogan is "Finger Lickin' Good" after all! Though its menu is filled with some tasty options like its Extra Crispy Wings and Popcorn Nuggets, employees want you to know that you shouldn't order everything on the menu...

A Reddit thread was created to ask fast food employees which foods customers should avoid at their respective restaurants. While some of the answers were shocking, there was one response from a former KFC employee that was downright disgusting. They warned customers to avoid the chain's BBQ Sandwich because the chicken they use for it is too "stale to give to the homeless shelters." Yikes!
"Worked at KFC for ~4 years. The BBQ sandwich is actually made from chicken too old and stale to give to the homeless shelters, so they soak it in BBQ sauce until it can be pulled and then they keep it on the heater for a month," the former employee wrote in the Reddit thread.
That's not the only thing you should avoid when you're at KFC. A former cook says you should steer clear of the gravy, too! "Former KFC cook here. I recommend that you don't consume the KFC gravy," wrote JoeyBosa It is primarily made of the filthy oil that stores up at the bottom of the cookers over the day and is then served to customers the next day."
Wow, you can bet we're never going to make this mistake again. Hopefully there's nothing wrong with the wings, because those are our favorite!
