Thinning hair can happen for a variety of reasons, but most people don't realize that it could be because of the food they eat. A poor diet can strip your hair of the vitamins and nutrients it needs to stay healthy and thick. So, do you and your hair a favor and cut THESE foods out of your diet:

Fast Food
Fast food isn't good for your gut, so why would it be good for your hair? The grease in these deep fried foods can clog the pores in your scalp, causing your hair to fall out.
Instead of reaching for a fast food burger and fries, hair growth expert Dr. John Frank recommends having lean proteins that will deliver healthy proteins to your hair. "Chicken, beans, lentils, eggs and seafood all tend to have healthy proteins in them, along with a low saturated fat content."
Diet Soda
If your go-to diet soda brand uses the artificial sweetener aspartame, it could be the reason for your thinning hair. According to Eat This, Not That! the sweetener has been linked to hair loss!
Swordfish
Eating foods that are high in mercury could also be making your hair thin, and fish like swordfish are loaded with it! "The overarching rule (but there are exceptions) is that the bigger the fish is in nature, the higher levels of mercury it has in it. Steer clear of fish like swordfish, mackeral, and even some tuna," according to the experts at Eat This, Not That!
Sugar Protein is a vital component for hair health; the more of it you eat, the stronger and healthier your hair will be. If your diet consists of foods that are loaded with sugar, you're hindering the hair's protein absorption.
