Ex-Walmart employees slams training process
If it seems like Walmart employees are frequently ill-prepare to provide quality customer service within their department, Mars says there's a good reason for that. "No Walmart employee is trained for any department that they're put in," she said in her YouTube video. "We don't need experience in that department, we don't get training, we don't need to know nothing. Nobody knows anything, OK? We learn as we grow with Walmart." Wow!
Mars says that training is so insufficient, in fact, that employees are urged to simply read the information from the boxes of products when asked for help: "We will literally read what's on the box to you because we don't know what we're talking about." Can you believe it?!
On top of overcharging and checkout scams, this is not an ideal experience for Walmart shoppers.
Ultimately, Mars admits, there's "not really a point in asking Walmart employees for help because you can basically just help yourself." Beyond that, she says, they might say they're going to get someone else to help you, but ultimately, the sad truth is that "Walmart employees do not care."
"I'm so sorry about it. We don't care," Mars concludes. Well, good to know.
But, hey, she also says that you may score a Walmart gift card if you complain to a store manager about poor customer service: "If you received bad customer service, if an employee was rude to you, if you waited for a very, very long time for someone to help you and no one came... you can complain to the store manager and if the store manager is nice and you're nice to them explaining your situation, they will most likely give you a gift card." So, that's a silver lining at least, right?
For some, especially considering the other inconveniences such as being charged for pickup orders, this may just be the icing on the cake it takes for some people to turn away from Walmart for good. What do you think? Have you experienced horrible customer service at Walmart, or have you had decent experiences? Let us know in the comments!
