Oftentimes, it’s your eyes that reveal your age. If you have puffy under-eye bags or dark circles, you may look older than your years. Likewise, if you are trying to achieve a youthful appearance, focusing on this area first is a good idea. Establishing a skincare routine with an emphasis on your under-eye area is one important step, which can help reduce these signs of aging over time.

For instant improvement, it’s also a smart idea to come up with a concealer routine that does the trick.

Skincare comes first.

Before applying any makeup to the area, make sure you're taking care of the skin there. Invest in an efficient eye cream (it doesn't have to be expensive!) and apply it every morning and night. Look for an eye cream that has caffeine in it to help reduce any puffy eye bags.

This is the best at-home under-eye hack.

Add an at-home hack to soothe this area even more. Try applying tea bags to your under eyes. This method not only improves the appearance of this under-eye skin, but it can also be a relaxing ritual to incorporate into your skincare routine.

Green and black tea are two popular choices for this. Healthline explains, "The caffeine in black and green teas has a positive effect on puffy, swollen eyes and can help to keep skin taut. Caffeine constricts the blood vessels within this sensitive tissue. This aids in reducing puffiness and inflammation."

Try to color correct the area.

Once you have taken care of this area, you can start applying makeup, and there's one trick you'll definitely want keep in mind for those under-eye bags: color correcting.

You should make sure to color correct based on your skin tone. According to L'Oreal, here are the recommended color combinations: "peach to disguise dark circles for fair to light skin tones, bisque to hide dark circles for light to medium skin tones, and orange to disguise dark circles for medium to deep skin tones."

Now, you can perfect the 'Fox Eye' method.

For applying the concealer, you actually want to stay away from the traditional application techniques. Instead of applying it in the shape of a triangle under the eye, use the concealer more sparingly to lift your eyes more effectively.

Apply it to the outer corner of your eyes, in an upward motion to your temples. Then, apply some to the inner corner of your eyes. This will help you achieve the famous "Fox Eye" look that celebs like Bella Hadid adore.

To lift the rest of your face, continue to apply the concealer to the sides of your nose, around the corner of your nose, and under the lower lip line.
