Gayle King, 69, Looks Ageless On 60th Anniversary ‘Sports Illustrated’ Cover
Though King was candid with her fans about her almost 30-lb weight loss back in 2016, when she popped up on their feed among the three other covergirls this month, some fans were skeptical.
One commenter added under an announcement post: "I'm sure she said 'I'll have what Oprah's having.'"
More followed, with one adding: "What weight loss drug is she on?" and someone else noting: "So if you have money and ozempic dreams come true."
She also shared behind-the-scenes moments with fans on her social media, to which one responded: “I guess Ozempic works.”
55 fans liked the comment claiming that the star had taken weight loss medication to drop a few pounds, like her good friend Oprah Winfrey, who confessed to taking weight loss drugs just last year.
However, the accusatory comments were outweighed by the surplus of comments uplifting the cover star.
One fan commented: “I love to see it!!! 69 where?!!! Say it louder Gayle!”
Another followed by saying “Well, she’s ageless, elegant and a true, inspiration to so many.”
Among King’s posts was a video of her reacting to her finding out she was on the cover as the publication told her she was "just going to be inside." King was overjoyed to find out on the CBS Mornings newscast and fans shared their reactions.
“This made me tear up seriously,” one fan said. “How inspiring to all women. Congratulations Gayle.”
Gayle King Has Been Transparent With Her Fans About Her Weight Loss Methods In the Past
King confessed to losing 28 lbs back in 2016 while on WeightWatchers because Winfrey, 70, was a partner with the weight loss company, at the time.
The morning show host also shared with Winfrey that she worked out for one hour a day, five to six times a week, along with her secret trick to burning calories faster.
"Before I was doing cardio, cardio, cardio. And I wasn't losing weight the way I'm losing now," King said. "Jim [Karas, her trainer at the time] said to me that building up muscle really does burn calories faster. For me, that's been the case.”
Since, King has shared that she has experienced some weight fluctuations, but she has not shared any changes in her method of weight loss.
