Gigi Hadid just proved that it really is true what they say about getting a new hairstyle after a break-up, as the 26-year-old model just underwent a serious hair change up after separating from 28-year-old “Pillowtalk” singer Zayn Malik, the father of her one-year-old daughter Khai.
We imagine that the model is trying to distract herself from what’s going on in her personal life right now. To recap very briefly, Gigi and Zayn broke up after it was reported that Gigi’s mom – former model and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Yolanda Hadid – made allegations about the former One Direction member “striking” her during an argument in September. Malik has reportedly pleaded no contest to four counts of harassment for allegedly abusing her both verbally and physically, and has always denied all the accusations. Gigi has yet to publicly comment on the situation, with only a brief statement from her people saying that she is “solely focused on the best for Khai.”
Gigi shared a picture of her bold and dramatic new look – which consisted of poker straight dark red hair and super-blunt bangs – with her 71.3 million Instagram followers; and over 3 million of them were quick to reach for that like button. Do we blame them? Gigi's post was actually an ad for clothing company H&M, with Gigi wearing a white cropped waistcoat and white pants, but the new hair definitely commanded the most attention. Gigi's fans didn’t end their approval at a quick tap of the like button, as the comments section was flooded with compliments about the new 'do!
A few famous faces couldn’t help but gush about Gigi's new look, with the iconic Tan France commenting, "You look STUNNING. The fringe is [fire emoji]," while his Queer Eye co-star Jonathan Van Ness completely agreed, adding, "I’m obsessed w this fringe and these looks." And they weren’t the only ones! "love the bangs" a Gigi stan wrote, alongside four red heart emojis. "you look so amazing," someone else commented. Another fan said: "Hottest mama" followed by a fire emoji and a red heart emoji. "Wow you are perfect" commented another, followed by a heart eyes emoji. The emoji game was as strong as ever, with many emojis of the fire, red heart, and heart eyes variety flooding her comments section. We won't mention the spam and trolling comments from One Direction/Zayn fans – now is not the time!
