When Gucci unveiled its new swimsuit at Milan Fashion Week, everyone completely fangirled over it. The one-piece swimsuit has since been worn by it-girl celebrities like Hailey Baldwin.
It’s no surprise, really, that the swimwear took off. The sparkling white microfiber swimsuit with Gucci’s vintage-style logo printed on the front is a timeless and classic take on a summer staple. It has a scoop-neck front and low-cut back with crisscross straps. The suit can easily be transitioned from beachside to streetwear by throwing a pair of high-waisted shorts or a skirt over it.
With one-piece bathing suits back on the rise in popularity, we have a feeling this suit will be a new cult classic
Gucci Printed Swimsuit ($490)
But, let’s be realistic--we don’t have $500 to drop on a swimsuit. Honestly, c’mon. Not to mention, one of Gucci’s most popular swimsuits, the One-Piece Swimsuit in Sparkling Lycra® with Gucci Print, can’t actually be worn in the pool! No joke. Look closely at the product description which reads, “Please Note: Due to the nature of this particular fabric, this swimsuit should not come into contact with chlorine.”
Since Gucci prices don’t fit in the average woman’s budget (and we prefer to actually be able to wear our swimsuits to, ya know, swim), we live for finding products that look very similar to the real thing--but for a fraction of the cost.
