The couple describes their new business venture as being a “multifaceted” and will include emotional support groups, a multi-media educational component, and a well-being website. However, it looks like the former royals may have even more up their sleeves.
According to the trademark application submitted to the U.S. Patent Trademark Office by the Harry’s and Meghan’s lawyers, it clearly states that they’d like to reserve the rights to make “motion picture films, articles, books, audiobooks, podcasts, audiovisual entertainment, television shows, digital entertainment content…scripted, unscripted and animated television shows.” Given that Meghan was an accomplished actress before she married Harry, the prospect is not surprising.
The “Archewell” brand will also include clothing, such as “jeans, shorts, sweaters, jackets, socks; loungewear; rainwear; footwear [and] headwear,” according to the trademark application. It looks like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want to leave all their options open.
Without the commitments for royal engagements, the sky’s the limit for Harry and Megan. But, will they become a full fledged movie studio? We’ll have to wait and see.
