Earlier this month, Guy Fieri made an appearance at the Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony of his friend, Sammy Hagar.

Looking sharp in an all-black ensemble consisting of a leather jacket, matching trousers, combat boots and layered silver necklaces, the Mayor of Flavortown, 56, showcased his weight loss success, having shed 30 pounds in the last four years.

Fieri recently shared details about his transformation and health and wellness journey in an interview with Men’s Health. The restauranteur revealed that he relied on an intermittent fasting method to achieve his slimmer physique.

Guy Fieri Gets Candid About His 30-Lb Weight Loss And Intermittent Fasting Method

Despite indulging in fried delicacies from all over the nation on his popular show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Fieri explained that he hasn't had to abandon his beloved comfort foods even after a remarkable weight loss journey. "I think moderation is a real thing… I still eat what I want to eat. But I just don’t eat as much of it," Fieri told Men's Health in an interview for their latest issue.

The Emmy winner disclosed that he successfully shed weight in the last few years by meticulously cutting down on his food intake and acquiring the services of a proficient personal trainer, who encouraged him to practice intermittent fasting. "It wasn’t as gnarly as you might think. I’m not a big breakfast fan," Fieri said regarding the method that involves extending the duration in which his physique depletes the calories ingested during his preceding meal and initiates the consumption of adipose tissue.

Fieri initiated a new fitness regime which included rucking, where he walked carrying a backpack with added weight, as pointed out by the Cleveland Clinic, along with high-intensity interval training. Fieri also noted that he wraps up his workouts with a 15-minute stint in a sauna, followed by a brisk three-minute dip in a cold plunge.

Regarding his routines following his workouts, Fieri said: "It’s a daily reset that keeps me going." He continued: "The thing about cold plunges is that you gotta get through the first 30 seconds. When I started, I hated waiting on the timer to go off. But now I breathe and get into the right mind space. The energy it gives you. It gets me fired up. I do it every day."

In his cover story for People Magazine in 2022, Fieri shared that he kickstarts his day with an early morning workout at 6 a.m. and has chosen to refrain from consuming alcohol on weekends. "I’ve changed my lifestyle in the last couple years — what I eat, when I eat, how I eat. I don’t want to be one of those guys that burns up through the tunnel," the father of two (who shares sons Hunter, 27 and Ryder, 18 with his wife Lori) dished to the publication.

In regards to his on-screen appearances for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, the Food Nework star also told the mag that he does not consume as much as he appears to on camera. "Everybody thinks I chug down the whole cheeseburger," he said. "I’ll try two items in a restaurant, three restaurants in a day. By the time I’ve had two bites of each food, I’m full."

As Fieri also noted to Men's Health: "Unfortunately, in the DDD world, people like to go, ‘Oh, you’re the chef that eats the deep-fried pizza burgers with the ice cream toppings and all those huge, fried everythings.'" He went on: "My response is ‘I don’t want to say that you don’t know what you’re talking about. But you don’t know what you’re talking about.’"

In an effort to improve his dietary habits, Fieri has recently taken to making some healthier choices with his beloved guilty pleasures. As he revealed in the aforementioned interview, he now delights in whipping up a succulent Bolognese sauce made from lean turkey, which he pairs with wholesome spaghetti squash for a guilt-free indulgence.

"How can something that’s so good for you taste so great? The bit of cinnamon in that Bolognese takes this to the next level… I would have loved to have had that Bolognese with bucatini," Fieri shared. He continued: "But if I have spaghetti squash instead, I know that’s 500 calories I’m not consuming. And it’s still delicious."
