Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, whose duets and melodies never fail to impress, just graced their fans with an epic cover of the 1984 country classic “Love Is Alive” by The Judds! This is a special moment for the couple and musical duo, as it’s the first time Shelton, 47, has ever harmonized with Stefani, 53, on leading vocals.
The former No Doubt frontwoman explained this in a new Instagram video for her 17 million followers, in which she spoke to fans and explained how much recording the cover with her husband meant to her. “It’s the first time Blake is ever going to sing harmony on a lead that I’m doing, it’s just been beyond a dream come true to be able to do it,” she said in a clip filmed at a recording studio.

Fans Praise Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton’s Cover Of The Judds On Instagram
She added: “Whenever you do a cover, you always feel like there’s no way to compete with the original. I mean there is absolutely no way and it’s such an honor.” Naturally, fans couldn’t get enough of Stefani (who is known for her ska-punk hits) singing a country song with Shelton and headed to the comment section to hype up their latest project.
“Love your rendition, it’s amazing! You’re sounding like a real country girl now!” one fan commented as another added: “sounds soooo good!” One other replied: “Gwen! I feel you mad respected this song and sang it is it should be. Great job! So much growth in you as an artist.”
Someone else concurred, writing: “You and Blake completely honored the Judds and this song. Wow…stunning and so proud of you both. It’s BEAUTIFUL.” One other chimed in: “It gave me chills! You two are so beautiful in everything you do. Love this song and you definitely do it justice. God bless!”
Their duet features soaring, ear-pleasing vocal harmonies, intricate guitar fingerpicking, smooth drums and a groovy bass line that all help emphasize the classic song’s romantic and heartfelt lyrics. “Love is alive / And it’s made a happy woman out of me,” Stefani sweetly sings as Shelton supports her with his deeper tone.
Together, they croon: "Love is alive / And at our breakfast table / Everyday of the week." We're sure that these iconic Voice coaches and husband and wife duo can relate to the words, especially with their frequent loving tributes to each other online— and through music!
For his 6.5 million followers, Shelton also uploaded the new cover in an Instagram post. He captioned it: "Thrilled to be part of this tribute album with @gwenstefani. @thejuddsofficial are one of the greatest country acts of our lifetime and 80’s country music is my favorite decade."
The "God's Country" hitmaker added: "I’ve been singing these songs for as long as I can remember. Listen to our version of "Love Is Alive" out now off the forthcoming album "A Tribute To The Judds.""
