Gwen Stefani Reportedly Told Blake Shelton To ‘Cut Ties’ With ‘Voice’ Co-Star Adam Levine After Cheating Scandal

Blake Shelton recently announced that he is leaving The Voice in 2023, and rumors are circulating online that his wife Gwen Stefani wants him to step away from another one of his work connections, as well. According to RadarOnline.com, sources reportedly told the outlet that Stefani, 53, allegedly urged Shelton, 46, to “cut ties” and “distance himself” from former fellow Voice coach, Adam Levine.
Last month, a bombshell TikTok video was posted by Instagram model Sumner Stroh. It instantly went viral after Stroh, 23, opened up about an alleged yearlong affair with the Maroon 5 frontman, 43 (who has been married to Behati Prinsloo since 2014). According to the insider sources, Stefani was reportedly upset with this news after going through a similar experience herself (her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale allegedly had an affair in 2015). The “Luxurious” hitmaker is said to be “friendly” with Levine’s wife, Prinsloo, 34, and seemed to empathize with her situation.
“For her, it’s personal,” the source supposedly told the site. “She isn’t worried about Adam being a bad influence [on Blake]; this is about principle.” The outlet previously reported that Shelton and Levine’s friendship was never the same after the “Girls Like You” singer left The Voice in 2019. The two were friends and co-stars from 2011 until that year. “They haven’t spoken in a while. There was no big dramatic falling out, but they both just moved on,” a different source allegedly dished to the publication. “It happens all the time with work relationships.”
While none of these rumors have been confirmed or denied by any of the stars involved, fans may recall that when Shelton and Stefani got married in July 2021, Levine did not attend their wedding. According to Shelton, (who talked about the couple’s guest list for their big day in an interview with SiriusXM’s The Storme Warren Show soon after), this may not be because of bad blood. The “God’s Country” singer and No Doubt frontwoman wanted to keep their celebration small and intimate.
“So I’ve had awkward conversations with, with so many of my friends since [the wedding] it’s ‘Oh, oh yeah. I read y’all. Yeah, I read about that. How was that?’” Shelton said at the time.”You know, I was like, ‘Listen, you know, we kept it small, get over it, you know, it’s not about you.'”
Shelton once talked about not wanting Levine at the ceremony because his former co-star told Ellen DeGeneres (while joking) that he didn’t “support their marriage” and planned to object at the ceremony (it seemed to be all in good fun). “Purposely, [I] did not invite Adam Levine to my wedding, and I think it’s funny,” Shelton later said during his Ellen DeGeneres Show appearance.
