Gwen Stefani Just Revealed The Most Shocking Secret About Her Covid Battle
October 31, 2021 by Merrell Readman
Gwen Stefani is back on the stage performing, and the 52-year-old singer recently revealed that back in 2020 when she cancelled several shows it was actually because she had come down with Covid. Speaking to the crowd for the opening show of her ‘Just A Girl’ residency in Las Vegas, the singer admitted that she was not untouched by the virus.
“I was one of the first to have Covid, in case you are wondering,” she revealed to the audience last Friday. “I was in Vegas. Do you remember when I cancelled those four shows?” Thankfully Stefani took the time off when she did, and is now back in action.
However, she did admit that she was yearning for connection with her fans. “I would literally take people up here and make out with you, but… I gotta make it through the next eight shows,” she said. “Just because I can’t touch you, I’m still breathing your air right now, so that’s the risk I’m taking because I love you guys.”
Stefani was private about her bout of Covid at the time, but now nearly two years later she’s back on stage and better than ever. The singer’s residency in Las Vegas will run through November 6, completing the show run which initially began back in 2018 and went into 2020 before Covid hit.
The past two years haven’t been all bad for the singer, however, and in July she tied the knot with longterm partner Blake Shelton. The pair initially met back in 2014 on the set of ‘The Voice’ where they were co-hosts together, and the relationship has only grown stronger since then as the pair even performed together in Vegas.
Tickets are still on sale for Stefani’s residency at Planet Hollywood.
