Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are the epitome of couple goals. The 55-year-old Gxve Beauty founder married the 48-year-old “God’s Country” musician in Oklahoma back in 2021, but they have been a hot A-list couple for nine years since meeting and falling in love on The Voice.
The No Doubt frontwoman once again opened up about how grateful she is to have met her husband in a brand new interview with The Guardian, and revealed that meeting and ultimately marrying him was her “second chance at life.” Aww!
Gwen Stefani Gushes About Husband Blake Shelton In New Interview
"Meeting my husband felt like a second chance at life. Because when my family fell apart, it felt like a catastrophe," the "Don't Speak" hitmaker confessed.
Stefani was married to Gavin Rossdale, 59, from September 2002 to April 2016, and shares sons Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 10, with him. She previously opened up about how disastrous their marriage was towards the end, in reference to rumors of him allegedly cheating on her with their children's nanny.
Gwen Stefani Previously Reflected On 'Terrible' Divorce From Gavin Rossdale
Back in September 2023, Gwen reflected on her divorce in a very candid interview with People, telling the outlet that her "life fell apart" after the "terrible" divorce.
"Everybody pretty much knows that at one point my life fell apart," the Grammy winner recalled. "It was terrible, and there's so many people out there that have gone through the same thing, when that happened, I had to literally start over again. It was a reset of my life."
Referencing the end of her marriage to the Bush frontman, which also coincided with her band breaking up, the singer said: "How do you pick yourself up from that? But God put this other person there to love me."
Blake Shelton Previously Said 'Gwen Saved My Life' As He Was Going Through His Own Divorce
This echoes what the "Ol' Red" singer previously said about the ageless "Hollaback Girl" singer. Shelton, who was going through his own divorce from fellow country singer Miranda Lambert, told Billboard back in 2016: "I was at rock bottom, in the middle of hell... Gwen saved my life. Who else on earth could understand going through a high-profile divorce from another musician?"
In her new interview with The Guardian, the "Rich Girl" hitmaker explained how music wasn't the only thing that brought them together, as they also have a shared love of gardening! "I know this sounds weird, but Blake and I came together in gardening," Gwen explained.
"We have a house together in Oklahoma and during the pandemic we came across this very old building on the land and there were some purple irises, which someone must have planted centuries ago, but they've survived," she continued.
Gwen went on to reference their dreamy duet, adding: "I wrote the song "Purple Irises" about that and how it feels to find true love and the insecurities of not wanting to lose it."
