Gwen Stefani Allegedly Wants To 'Quit' The Voice To Prioritize Time With Blake Shelton And Her Children, Insiders Say
The "Luxurious" hitmaker returned for the season finale last week with her finalist, 16-year-old Sydney Sterlace, who did not win. They faced competition from Team Michael Bublé’s Sofronio Vasquez and Shye, Team Reba McEntire’s Danny Joseph, and Team Snoop Dogg’s Jeremy Beloate. Making his coaching debut this season, Canadian singer Bublé, 49, secured a victory with his contestant Vasquez, 32.
Despite her multiple seasons on The Voice, the No Doubt frontwoman has only claimed victory once, with Carter Rubin in season 19. Contemplating her experience on the singing competition appears to have led Stefani to consider that it "might be time to graduate" from the show, a close insider revealed to the publication. The tipster also dished that Stefani has been "crying a lot this season."
They further explained: "She has said several times while filming that she’s even more of an ‘emotional wreck’ this season than she ever has been." The insider continued, regarding the mom of three: "It was nonstop emotions, crying throughout this entire journey but you can tell it’s mostly rooted in joy and deep pride for the work she’s done." They mentioned that because of Stefani's actions this season, it seems highly likely (with "all signs pointing") that she will decide to leave after a decade.
"She never outright said she was done with the show but it seems like she’s quitting, yeah. She’s done I think," the source shared. They went on: "Gwen wants to spend more time with her family now that Blake is also off the show. She really found a second home in Oklahoma and seeing Blake walk away from the show and prioritize his own music and their family life, I think made her realize what her next chapter can look like."
Even still, the source stressed that Stefani was "more present than ever" with her contestants, team and finalist Sterlace during season 26. Stefani shares three children (Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 10) with her ex, Gavin Rossdale.
The "Hollaback Girl" artist and Bush rocker, 59, tied the knot in 2002 and split in 2015. Stefani and Shelton became romantically linked later that same year and wed in 2021. Since then, the former Voice co-stars have endeared themselves to fans with public expressions of affection and by sharing images of their blended family, highlighting Shelton's role as a stepfather to Stefani's three sons on social media.
