The saying holds true: the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!

Apple Martin, the 20-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, made a grand debut at the prestigious Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris on Saturday. Both of her A-list parents were in attendance to support their daughter’s formal entrance.

The event, which showcases elite children making their formal debut into society, quickly went viral on TikTok for its display of opulence and grandeur.

While Apple dressed impeccably for the occasion, some fans couldn’t help but call out perceived “mean-girl” vibes during the event.

Apple Martin Wears Maison Valentino to Le Bal des Débutantes

For the high-society occasion, Paltrow’s oldest child wore a light-blue tiered strapless dress with a black bow embellishment at the stomach. Valentino’s official Instagram page described the dress as a “ciel bleu silk plissé chiffon.”

The Goop founder “opted for a long dress in point d’esprit tulle with white polka dots and all-over ruffles.”

It was a Valentino affair, as even Paltrow’s son, Moses, wore a custom Valentino tuxedo.

Fans of the actress praised the mother-daughter duo for their “stunning” looks and their “gorgeous” family, but a viral video of Apple’s “classless” behavior painted a different picture of the nepo daughter.

Fans Slam Apple Martin’s “Mean-Girl” Behavior at Le Bal des Débutantes

A viral clip showed Apple drawing attention for all the wrong reasons. In the footage, another young debutante was gracefully posing in front of the photographers when Apple suddenly walked abruptly into the frame from behind, stealing the girl’s moment. Striking a confident pose with her hand on her hips, she made her way front and center into the shot, leaving the other girl no choice but to laugh it off awkwardly and move along.

The Vanderbilt University student posed for a good few seconds before finally stepping away and letting the debutante behind her have her moment after patiently waiting for her turn.

TikTok was flooded with comments slamming her “entitled” behavior at the “nepo-baby ball.”

“She just came and stole that other girl’s thunder…ok”

“Every post I’ve seen of Apple Martin gives off these vibes.”

“That looks like a scene in a teenage movie where the mean girl steals someone’s show.”

“Oh this is giving MEAN girl vibes all day!!”

“The poor girl in front of her—the look on her face.”
