Gwyneth Paltrow Wears Carolina Herrera To 2023 Red Sea International Film Festival Closing Ceremony
For the red carpet, the Sliding Doors actress wore a bright yellow sarong gown from the Carolina Herrera Resort 2024 collection, which featured puff sleeves, a waist-defining bow, and a center-slit, as well as a subtle train at the back. She finished off the outfit with some matching yellow platform strappy heels, which were very visible thanks to the dramatic center-slit of the dress.
The Shallow Hal star's blonde hair was worn in a classy sleek and straight low pony, which showed off her gold and diamond drop earrings perfectly, while her makeup consisted of bronzed cheeks, a subtle lined eye, and soft pink lips.
At the festival, the Oscar-winner spoke about her acting career with In Conversation moderator Jomana Al-Rashid, and explained how her mother, Blythe Danner, influenced her when she was a child. "My mother is an actress. She did mostly theater. And so, I grew up as a little girl watching her rehearse plays and running around the theater," she said, as per Variety. "My mother would even say she always felt a bit insecure. When she was onstage, she was the most powerful, integrated force of nature that I have ever seen. And so I wanted to be that."
Negative Comments
Paltrow's outfit unfortunately didn't go down well on the internet, as her fans couldn't help but slam the look on social media and in various comments sections. One of the main problems people seemed to have with the dress was the color, while others also thought it was ill-fitting, creased, and some even deemed it too busy.
Commenting on a Daily Mail article featuring some looks from the red carpet, one person said: "Gwenyth and her fashion taste never seems to land." "Oh Gwynnie, what were you thinking?" asked another fan. Someone else said the dress was "Ugly yellow. Too bright," which another agreed with, writing: "That is one ugly dress."
Another quipped: "Gwyneth's next role is to star as Big Bird's love interest in the upcoming Sesame Street movie." "That color's awful on her," said another, as someone else slammed the look and wrote: "Gwen looks like she dressed with the lights off."
