Gwyneth Paltrow has long been admired by her fans for her transparency in sharing selfies without makeup, discussing her experiences with facial injections, and providing skincare advice via Instagram.
During a recent Q&A session with her 8.3 million followers on the social media platform, one of her fans inquired about whether or not she had ever used Botox. In response, the Goop founder, 51, revealed: “God yes. Both successfully and unsuccessfully I’m afraid.”
Gwyneth Paltrow Opens Up About Positive And Negative Botox Experiences On Instagram
Paltrow has previously disclosed her attempts with facial injectables, with this recent reveal not being the first time. During an interview with Harper's Bazaar in 2013, the Oscar winner spoke about a past negative experience she had encountered with facial injections.
"I’ve probably tried everything," she said after being asked about her skincare routine. She added: "I would be scared to go under the knife, but you know, talk to me when I’m 50. I’ll try anything. Except I won’t do Botox again, because I looked crazy."
Now that the Avengers: Endgame actress is 51, she is continuing to talk more about cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures. Previously, she has explained her eagerness to openly share her thoughts on this topic with her fans. "I think that taboo changes when people talk about [injectables] and are honest about it," the Shakespeare in Love alum dished to Glamour in 2020.
She continued: "I think there’s a lot of celebrities in our culture who clearly use injectables, and I think it’s nice for women to understand, Oh, if you’re past 45 and you have no wrinkles of any kind, you might be getting a little bit of help here and there. And I think it’s nice; I think it’s a more candid and a more transparent approach to beauty."
The mom of two went on: "I would never want to be prescriptive about what I think people should do. Some women really don’t want to do them and some women love them. I think that’s part of the thing as well, not creating a space of judgment around what other women’s choices are, in anything in life."
Amen to that!
