Hailey Bieber openly expressed her dissatisfaction with Billboard’s recent placement of her husband, Justin Bieber, on their list of the Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century.
The “Yummy” crooner, 30, was ranked eighth, trailing behind Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Drake, Rihanna, and even Kanye West, with whom the Biebers had a notable dispute.
The music outlet has yet to reveal its top two artists. Last month, the publication announced on Instagram that the “Beauty and a Beat” hitmaker was its eighth pick. In the October 22nd caption, Billboard wrote: “Justin Bieber is No. 8 on Billboard’s list of the 25 Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century.” The message went on: “The greatest teen-pop phenomenon of the early 2010s ultimately made the jump to true adult superstardom, blazing a new trail for young 21st century hitmakers in the process.”
Hailey Bieber Reacts To Billboard's Ranking Of Husband Justin Bieber As The 8th Greatest Pop Star Of The 21st Century
The statement continued: "Billboard remembers the century in @justinbieber — who has now been a megastar for half his 30 years, accounting for some of the best and biggest pop music (and one of the most impactful career paths) of the past 15 years in the process — at the link in bio." In a now deleted comment, the Rhode mogul wrote beneath the post: "Billboard is a f—g joke as per usual."
West (legally known as Ye), 47, was ranked seventh in Billboard's ongoing list. Back in 2022, the "Flashing Lights" artist publicly mocked Vogue fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson on Instagram after she criticized his Yeezy collection. Several celebrities came to her defense, including Hailey. The model shared words of support for her frequent collaborator, and Ye then turned his attention on her, posting about her on IG and calling out to her husband, Justin.
The Victoria's Secret alum simply shared the following words on her IG Story for Karefa-Johnson, which later seemed to upset Ye: “My respect for you runs deep my friend! to know you is to adore you and to work with you is an honor. the most kind. the most talented. the most fun. the most chic.”
Ye then uploaded a screenshot of a headline reading “Hailey Bieber Joins Gigi Hadid in Defending Gabriella Karefa-Johnson After Kanye West Criticism.” He then wrote in all caps for the caption, “Wait Am I canceled again??? Justin please let me know.” The "Heartless" rapper didn’t stop there. He added in another IG post: "Justin get your girl before I get mad."
In a separate social media rant, which has since been deleted but reshared on regram accounts, Ye then went on to allege that Hailey had a nose job by calling her “nose job Hailey Baldloose,” in reference to her maiden name Hailey Baldwin, which both Justin and his wife have said is not true.
The "One Time" artist, as fans know, has achieved eight Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers and 26 top 10 hits over the course of his career. The new father, who recently welcomed his son Jack Blues Bieber with his wife Hailey, has not put out an album since 2021's Justice. However, it is rumored that he has returned to the recording studio.
