Hailey Bieber Looks Incredible In Mermaid-Inspired Valentino Micro Mini Dress
The Rhode Skin founder treated her 49.5M Instagram followers to some pictures of herself posing in a stunning turquoise mini dress (major emphasis on the word ‘mini’) from the Valentino Spring 23 Couture collection, featuring round silver circles that cleverly resembled fish scales.
Mrs Bieber is kneeling on a white chair in most of the photos, and the back of her dress is visible in each one, showing off the open-back design featuring turquoise string at the back which was tied up in a criss-cross pattern. We totally get why Hailey wanted to make the back of the dress the star of the show!

The Vogue Australia cover girl finished off her mermaid-inspired look with some dark blue heels, sticking with the aquatic theme, and some dazzling diamond hoop earrings. And although her hair isn’t the traditional long mermaid length, it still had mermaid vibes due to it being styled in semi-wet-look loose waves. Her makeup, as always, was soft and totally glowing!

Negative Comments From Selena Gomez Fans
Although many of Hailey’s fans complimented her pictures, as they always do, a lot of the comments section of this particular carousel was initially dominated by negative messages and even death threats from Selena Gomez fans and internet trolls following the alleged recent drama between them, which didn’t sit well with the 30-year-old Only Murders in the Building star, as she actually came to Hailey’s defense on Friday, March 24th to beg her fans to stop directing “hateful negativity” towards her. Just when we thought we couldn’t love Selena any more!

Selena Gomez Defends Hailey Bieber
“Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity,” Selena, who famously had an on/off relationship with Justin Bieber before he started dating Hailey, wrote in an Instagram Story on Friday, March 24th.
“This isn’t what I stand for,” she continued. “No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop.” She finished off with a red heart emoji.
That wasn’t the first time Selena seemingly defended Hailey, either, as she indirectly seemed to urge fans to *not* troll Hailey a little earlier this month too. When Selena posted a makeup tutorial on TikTok on March 5th, she commented, “Please, please be kinder and consider others mental health. My heart has been heavy and I only want good for everyone. All my love,” which may have been a subtle way to beg her fans to be kind to Hailey amid the recent drama.

Hailey Bieber Thanks Selena Gomez For Speaking Out
Hailey showed her gratitude to Selena for speaking out by thanking her publicly just a few hours later! “I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I,” Hailey wrote on her Instagram Story. “The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved and millions of people are seeing so much hate around this which is extremely harmful. While social media is an incredible way to connect and build community, moments like this only create extreme division instead of bringing people together.”
“Things can always be taken out of context or construed differently than they were intended,” she continued, which could be in reference to some of the recent drama (more on this down below!) and added, “We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and what we say, including myself. In the end, I believe love will always be bigger than hate and negativity, and there is always an opportunity to see each other with more empathy and compassion.” And the best part in all this is that Hailey and Selena are now following each other on Instagram! Aww!
A Brief Recap Of The Recent Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez Drama
Over the past month alone, there has been quite a lot of alleged drama between Selena and Hailey, as well as Kylie Jenner and Justin Bieber who were also dragged into things, which we will try to recap as concisely as possible with a few of the biggest highlights.
On February 22nd, coincidentally the same day Selena overtook the 25-year-old Kylie Cosmetics founder as the most followed woman on Instagram, a TikTok user named @devotedly.yours hinted that Kylie and Hailey made fun of Selena via Instagram Stories. Here's why! Three hours after Selena posted a video on TikTok saying she’d accidentally over-laminated her eyebrows, Kylie posted a photo of her own face with the words "This was an accident???" over it, alongside a screenshot from a FaceTime call with Hailey that focused on their eyebrows. @devotedly.yours hinted that the "childish" post was throwing shade at Selena, although Kylie soon replied directly to the video saying, "This is reaching," adding, "No shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly." Hmm…

The very next day, Selena replied to Kylie's aforementioned comment, saying: "It’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!" A few days later, on February 27th, Selena's fans accused Hailey of shading Selena by using the song "Calm Down" by Rema, which also features Selena, in an Instagram story, but without including Selena's vocals. Buzzfeed noted that Hailey was re-posting a story from Rhode's account, which could have meant that someone on her Rhode team chose the song and it had nothing to do with Hailey herself. We guess we’ll never know for sure unless someone directly clears it up!
Another potentially significant event happened on March 4th, this time featuring Justin Bieber. When Justin’s close friend and music video director Alfredo Flores shared a picture of an engraved silver lighter shaped like a cowboy hat, which was a party favor from the "Peaches" singer's 29th birthday party, the engraving made fans think that he was directly shading his ex-girlfriend, Selena. Each lighter was inscribed with the words: "I’m so thankful that I didn’t end up with what I thought I wanted."

This made many fans believe he was shading the "Lose You to Love Me" singer, while others pointed out that it could also be interpreted as shade to Hailey too, with one fan tweeting: "Admitting that your wife was your second choice on your birthday is crazy lmao Selena truly lives in his mind rent free." Glamour has noted that the lighters weren’t actually personally engraved by Justin or his team, as they are sold by the brand Twojeys with the inscription already on there.
