You heard it here first: dark hair is out, blonde is in. And not just any blonde… think Disney princess chic, a light, bright shade of platinum. We’re calling it Cinderella blonde.

And celebrities have already started going crazy about this look. Case in point: Emily Ratajkowski forgoing her signature coffee-brown hue for a bold and blonde look:

It makes sense that we’re seeing so many blonde highlights lately. The color is cheery, uplifting and exactly what we need as the world starts returning to normal.

You don’t have to go quite as blonde as Cinderella herself to capture this stunning new trend – and if you are considering lightening up your look, we’ve got a few tips for you…

If you want to go as blonde as someone like Karlie Kloss here, don't jump right into a complete bleached look. First consult with a hair stylist to find out if this type of look is even right for your specific hair.

Even if you plan on taking the dye into your own hands for an at-home treatment, it is important to do the research first to determine which shades and undertones will bring your color down to your intended shade of blonde. The last thing you'd want is a botched dye job!

And once you do go blonde, don't forget to maintain your newly dyed  hair with hydrating shampoos and color-protecting products.

Not sure if the Cinderella look is right for you? There is another way to lighten up your look this season: color-blocking. We've been seeing this trend gain momentum for some time now.

Sonya Dove of the Ulta Beauty Pro Team told SheFinds that, “Color blocking at the front of the hair is really popular because it lightens and brightens around the face. It’s a great technique that’s low maintenance, versatile, and can be adapted to fit any color to suit the individual.”
